What is gdrfa application?
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) applications is meant for Dubai residents who are returning to Dubai now. Dubai residence visa holders who are travelling rom restricted countries need the GDRFA as well as ICA approval to enter Dubai.
How to apply for GDRFA Application Online?
You can apply for the GDRFA approval through the GDRFA online portal. Yu will need to enter the Resident File Number which can be found on your visa under the file segment. Further, you will need other documents like your passport, visa, and the Emirates ID. You ned to complete the application procedure and then once your application gets approved, you will receive an email with the GDRFA reference number.
How to Check status online?
It is possible to check the GDRFA approval status online. It is available at the https://www.gdrfad.gov.ae/en website.
How to get a return permit for resident outside uae?
You can get a return permit from the GDRFA website under the Entry Permits Services option. To apply for the return permit, you need to click on the Request Residency Entry Permit and complete the steps.
Do I need an ICA or GDRFA approval to come back to the UAE?
If you are travelling to UAE from the restricted countries, then you will need GDRFA and ICA approval both. However, other residence visa holders won’t need a GDRFA approval. It is also mandatory for travellers to be fully vaccinated and they must have undergone RT-PCR test with a negative result recently.
Can I enter UAE with expired residence visa?
GCC and citizens of select countries do have the option to receive their visa upon arrival in Dubai. However, for others it is not possible and they must renew their visa to enter UAE.
